Ergonomics is the science of fitting the work environment to the employee. The Ergonomics program is responsible for preventing musculoskeletal injuries. Ergonomic assessments and training are designed to analyze and evaluate an employee’s workplace, equipment, body mechanics, posture, and job flow to promote a more efficient and productive worker.
Environmental Health & Radiation Safety (EHRS) can conduct ergonomic evaluations to identify workstation design or working conditions that may contribute to discomfort or injury. Evaluations may result in recommendations for corrective actions or equipment. Contact EHRS at 215-707-2520 for additional information or to request an evaluation.
