Chemical Waste Management Program
Environmental Health and Radiation Safety (EHRS) has developed a robust program for the management of chemical waste generated from university laboratories, support services and operations. The purpose of the program is to protect the safety of students, employees, and visitors, protect the environment and to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
The Chemical Waste Management Manual and associated guidance documents were developed by Environmental Health & Radiation Safety (EHRS) to establish a written plan to address how the University manages all chemical waste generated from Temple University (TU).
Radiological and biological waste are covered in the Radiation Safety Manual and the Biosafety Manual respectively, and are therefore not covered by this program.
